Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Online objective exam with 170 questions — 120 from technical/professional knowledge (Part I) and 50 from general aptitude (Part II). Carries 100% weightage in final merit. All regions appear on the same date.
Computer Skill Test (CST) — for JOT Posts Only
Qualifying in nature for Junior Officer Trainee (HR & F&A) posts. Tests basic computer operation and MS Office skills. Marks are not added to CBT merit score.
Trade Test — for JTT (Survey) Only
Practical proficiency test for Junior Technician Trainee (Survey) candidates. Qualifying in nature. Marks are not added to merit. Practical surveying knowledge is assessed.
Document Verification (DV)
Original certificates including educational qualification, caste/category certificate (if applicable), age proof, and identity documents are verified at the regional office.
Pre-Employment Medical Examination
Shortlisted candidates undergo a mandatory health check as per POWERGRID medical standards. Only medically fit candidates receive the final offer of training appointment.
